Anatomy and Physiology

The Anatomy refers to the structure and Physiology to the function.  In these Anatomy and Physiology classes we will be exploring both of these and how they work together within the understanding of the Ortho-Bionomy’s respectful relationship to the body’s structure and function.

  1. Self guided: Complete 24 unit’s with the online app: Complete Anatomy and 8 units in class (one level) or class and online zoom portion (for both levels)
  2. May 31st In-class (8 units) for both levels (Practitioner and Advanced Practitioner)
  3. April 19 & 20 online/ Zoom (8 units total) A & P Ortho-Bionomy perspectives and practice

Whether you are studying for the Practitioner level or the Advanced Practitioner level, you can start with completing either of the following 2 course options on the Complete Anatomy platform (app):

  1. Undergraduate Anatomy (Regional) or
  2. Undergraduate Anatomy (Systemic-recommended)

Practitioner / Level 1 –  We will review terminology; joints, regions, connective tissue,  palpation skills and exploration of  Skeletal / muscular  Systems, Function- Articulation / documenting skillsAdvanced Practitioner / Level 2 – Body systems; Fluids/ Fascia / Organization of the Nervous system / Cranium /viscera systems / guidelines for writing Medical Legal reports

  1. Participants will be required to purchase (Complete Anatomy) 3D for medical by Elsevier study app and complete one of the two courses mentioned above before the in person class.

Your cost: Purchase of Complete Anatomy app $49.99 / In person classes cost and zoom support: $300.00 for one day or $500.00 for both (another day will be arranged for day 2).

Isometrics

Using the principles of Ortho-Bionomy, participants in this class learn Isometric and Isotonic techniques for working with muscle tension patterns and underdeveloped muscle tone.  Through the use of resistance while the muscle is engaged, proprioceptors are stimulated.  This allows habitual holding patterns to rebalance and results in greater flexibility and mobility.
